Dear Mrs Jacobs

Bourne Town Hall - Flag

Further to your discussions with Beverly Agass regarding the issue of the flag at Bourne I have been asked to confirm to you the arrangements currently in hand to ensure that the flagpole can be utilised properly.

As you may be aware the current issues around not being able to fly the flag are due to the inaccessibility of the cleat to which the rope for the flag is secured.

Works are in hand to move the cleat to a position where it can be easily accessed from the entrance steps to the Town Hall without the need to lean out over the railings. The cleat will then be locked to ensure that it cannot be used by any unauthorised persons. This work has been organised and will be carried out this week.

In preparation for Armed Forces Day on 22nd June South Kesteven District Council have ordered three additional flags. Assuming that these are provided as requested one will be flown at Bourne Town Hall by the Corn Exchange caretaker and the other two will be provided to Stamford and Deeping Town Councils to be flown by them on their flagpoles.

I trust that this clarifies the situation but should you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact me direct.

Yours sincerely

SUSIE S McCAHON
