Thank you for your request for information that was logged on 15 July 2009 relating to FOI/4141, You have requested the following information:

http://nutsville.com/?p=730 were parked in the bay. In other words, did the Council employees to whom each motorcycle was assigned pay the daily parking tax of £1.00 or did they purchase an annual parking permit for £100? If not, on what basis and permission were these Council owned motorcycles parked?

In response to your request I can advise you of the following:

CEO's are exempt from specific traffic regulations when the vehicle is engaged in a parking enforcement. Under the Traffic Management Order 2002, the City of Westminster (Waiting and Loading Restriction) No1, part 13 (d). (13.)

The restrictions imposed by Part II of this Order shall not apply in relation to the following vehicles, that is to say -

Vehicles when used in the service of a local authority in pursuance of statutory powers or duties provided that in all the circumstances it is reasonably necessary in the exercise of such powers or the performance of such duties for the vehicle to wait in the place in which it is waiting.
