Thank you for your e-mail of 17th July 2008, in which you sought information relating to the following from Ministry of Justice:
This is in regard to the case Centrum voor gelijkheid van kansen en voor racismebestrijding v. Frima Feryn NV (`the Feryn case') in Court of Justice of the European Communities (Case C-54/07), in which the United Kingdom Government intervened. I would like you to provide:
Any document setting out the reasons for the United Kingdom Government to submit an observation to the court in such a way
How much money was spent on this intervention
I can confirm that our Department does not hold the information you have requested as the nature of your request falls outside the remit of our responsibilities. However this request has been passed to the Government Equalities Office. Therefore the new response date will be Monday 1st September 2008. Their contact details are:
