Dear Ms / Mr Cassidy,
Thank you for your email of 14 May to the Department of Health requesting, under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act, contact details for all Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and details of their relevant governing bodies. Your request has been passed to me for reply.
Section 21(1) of the FOI Act allows public bodies to withhold that information which is reasonably accessible to the applicant by other means. The information you request is already in the public domain and can be accessed from the NHS Choices website by postcode search at: www.nhs.uk/ServiceDirectories/Pages/ServiceSearchAdditional.aspx?ServiceType=Mentalhealth.
Relevant details are also available on the Child Health Mapping website (www.childhealthmapping.org.uk) and the Children's Services Mapping website (www.childrensmapping.org.uk). The former might be most helpful to you as an initial resource, as a service mapping directory providing contact details is available here: www.childhealthmapping.org.uk/reports/directory.php.
The information you request is also available in the NHS Yearbook, which can be purchased for a fee and may be available in major public libraries.
The NHS Choices website will provide details of all governing Trusts. A full list of Mental Health Trusts is available here: www.nhs.uk/ServiceDirectories/Pages/AcuteTrustListing.aspx.
If you have any queries about this response, please contact me. Please remember to quote the reference number above in any future communications.
I hope this reply is helpful. If you are dissatisfied with the handling of your request, you have the right to ask for an internal review. Internal review requests should be submitted within two months of the date of receipt of the response to your original letter and should be addressed to:
