Dear Mr. Canning

Re: Request under the 2000 Freedom of Information Act

Thank you for your e-mail dated 11 May 2009, in which you sought information relating to the following from the Ministry of Justice.

I understand that you have previously had correspondence from the tribunal service on the 28th April 2009 providing you with information about the complaints procedure and the leaflet “A positive step forward” which contains details of the complaints procedure.

For additional information, there is a free accessible link on the Ministry of Justice website which provides information about complaint procedure and how to make a complaint. The information can be reached by the following link:

http://www.justice.gov.uk/contactus.htm.

I have also attached a copy of the internal guidelines on handling complaints used by the tribunal service.

However, following your subsequent email you state that most of the emails you sent were to the Home Secretary and general email via the Home Office. Any complaints with regard to the Home Office would not be dealt with by the Ministry of Justice. For information, I have included a link that will give you details about making a complaint to the Home Office.

http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/complaints/

In your email you also asked for all information held on you. This request is being dealt with as a separate matter under the data protection act.

If you are unhappy with the result of your request for information, you may request an internal review within two calendar months of the date of this letter by writing to : Data Access and Compliance Unit, Information Directorate, Ministry of Justice, 6th Floor, Zone B, 102 Petty France, London SW1H 9AJ.

If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision. The Information Commissioner can be contacted at: Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF

Yours sincerely
