Dear Mr Morgan
Request for information re Tenant Participation and Camden
Thank you for your e-mail requesting information from the Audit Commission. You requested
was as follows:
Please send me all information relating to the 2002 assessment (of tenant participation at
Camden).

The Audit Commission looked at tenant participation as part of an inspection of housing
management at the London Borough of Camden. The inspection was published in September
2002. The report can be found on the Audit Commission’s website using the following link:

http://www.audit-
commission.gov.uk/housing/inspection/localauthority/reports/Pages/housingmanagementservice
.aspx?AIBID=31

The report refers to tenant participation in a number of places although, as you will see, it is only
one element of the wider housing management service that was examined. In terms of evidence
supporting the report, due to its age, this is held by an archiving company and is due to be
destroyed shortly (after 7 years) in accordance with Commission’s record disposal schedule.
I have not requested the retrieval of this information. This is because I have estimated that the
cost of complying with your request (to review all of the information in relation to tenant
participation) will exceed the ‘appropriate limit’ of £450 (18 hours @ £25 per hour) which is laid
down by the FoIA and associated Regulations. However, if you could narrow down your request
so that the information at issue can be identified we can consider your request further and
provide a response.
If you wish to pursue this option please write to me giving appropriate details. Should you
decide to proceed there will be an assessment of whether the information requested
If you are unhappy with what has been provided, or the way your request has been handled,
you can raise a complaint under the Audit Commission's Access to Information Complaints
Procedure. A copy is attached.
