Request for information
Thank you for your correspondence received by the department on 16 July in which you requested the following information under the Freedom of Information Act:
A copy of the terms of reference for the Access to Information Central Clearing House at the Ministry of Justice;
A copy of guidance issued to public authorities by the Ministry of Justice on requirements for referring FOI requests to the Clearing House, including the full document for which Annex B is posted on the Ministry's website at http://www.foi.gov.uk/guidance/pdf/annex-b.pdf. as well as the guidance notes and annexes;
Arrangements and standards of service which have been adopted by the Clearing House to ensure that FOI requests are turned around promptly and that referral to the Clearing House does not contribute to unnecessary delay in responding to a request from a member of the public.
This information is exempt from disclosure under the section 21(1) of the Freedom of Information Act, as the information is already reasonably accessible to you. However, we have provided links to where this information can be found to be as helpful as possible. An updated Clearing House “Toolkit for Practitioners” contains information with regard to the arrangements and standards of service which have been adopted by the Clearing House to ensure that referrals are turned around promptly and that referral to the Clearing House does not contribute to unnecessary delay.
