RE: Freedom of Information Request

Thank you for your e-mail received by us on 8th May 2009 . You requested;

Further to your "Notes from the public meeting - 23 April 2009,

were the negotiations(mentioned on your web page - http://www.southribble.gov.uk/section.asp?catid=300941&docid=2247),

supported by any documentation? If the answer is yes, might they be

available for examination.

Additionally, given the reactions and assertions made by the College and representatives from the Leisure Centre, I would also like to know the College's responses to your

documents.

A panel of officers have considered your request and our decision is as follows;

We believe your request is too vague for us to be able to complete without many hours of work sorting through correspondence relating to this issue. Discussions between the Authority and the College have been going on for some time and some of the information relates to contractual matters that attract Legal Professional Privilege, In addition, some information may have been provided in confidence and as this matter is still under negotiation, some information is commercially sensitive at this stage and some information may be the property of the college. The exemptions within the Freedom of Information Act relating to this matter are contained in Sections 41 and 42.

We will however, publish all the relevant information on this issue on our website as appropriate.

If you can make your request more specific in any way, we will attempt to provide you with the information you require.
