Dear Mr Canning,
Freedom of Information Act request concerning single locus probes produced by Nottingham
University for DNA profiling birds of prey.
Thank you for your email dated 7th May 2009, which requested information from the Food and
Environment Research Agency (Fera)
(formerly the Central Science Laboratory) under the Freedom of
Information Act. Your request has been passed to me for action on behalf of the Agency.
You requested the following information:
“Do you have any information on the single locus probes produced by Nottingham
University for DNA profiling of birds of prey and if so can I have copies of the
information that you hold?”
After checking with Fera scientific staff, I can confirm that Fera does not hold the information you
have sought. Regrettably, I am therefore unable to provide you with the information you have
requested on this occasion. However, Fera may be able to offer you assistance in this general area on
a commercial basis. If you require further information regarding our services please contact me.
I believe that I have now responded fully to your request for information from Fera under the
Freedom of Information Act. However, if you are unhappy with the way that Fera has handled your
request for information you may ask for an internal review, please contact me and I will arrange one
on your behalf. If you remain unsatisfied because of the internal review, you have the right to apply
directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision. The Information Commissioner must be
contacted in writing within two months of you receiving the results of the internal review. The
Information Commissioner may be contacted at the following address:
