Dear Mr Gray 14 May 2009

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 - EU COHESION FUNDING DATA

Thank you for your e-mail dated 6 May 2009, in which you requested spreadsheet (e.g. excel form) details of the information that EU Programme Managing Authorities are required to hold under Article 53b (2d) of Council Regulation 1605/2002 and Article 7 (2) (d) of Commission Implementing Regulation 1828/2006 on all beneficiaries of EU Cohesion Funding. I am dealing with your request under the terms of the above legislation.

DFP's European Division as a Managing Authority in the 2000-06 round of funding has a website which contains data on projects funded in this period and should be of assistance to you. I have therefore attached a relevant link www.europe-dfpni.gov.uk/european-funding. This information however is downloaded from our Structural Funds data system and is not held in the format you have requested.

DFP is not a Managing Authority for the funding period 2007-13. However, you may find it helpful to know that the data requested under Article 7 (2) (d) of the Commission Implementing Regulation No 1828/2006 should be held by the Managing Authorities of the respective Operational Programmes for this period. There are a number of Managing Authorities who are responsible for delivery of the relevant programmes in Northern Ireland:

If you feel that the information I have provided does not fully meet your request please contact me on 02890 523886 in the first instance. You have the right to request a formal review by the Department within two calendar months of the date of this letter. If you wish to do so, please write to DFP Information Management Unit, 1st Floor, ISU Building, Rosepark, Upper Newtownards Road, Belfast, BT4 3NR.

If, after such an internal review, you are still unhappy with the response, you have the right to appeal to the Information Commissioner at Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, CHESHIRE SK9 5AF, who will undertake an independent review. The Information Commissioner's leaflet 'Freedom of Information and Environmental Information Regulations - When and how to complain' provides further advice on making a complaint.

Yours Sincerely

Maura Young
