The Council contracts out the provision of on street enforcement and our contract provides a combined service delivery including:
on-street parking enforcement services.
vehicle removals.
signs and lines maintenance.
cash collection, counting, banking and ticket machine maintenance.
an integrated parking ICT system which includes: notice processing software; electronic parking permits; document scanning, workflow and postal payment processing; and on-line web payments.
Overall, the council spent £5,373,404.90 on this service in financial year 2008/09.
In financial year 2008/2009, the Council received £6,911,000.00 in income from parking tickets, approximately £1.7 million from permits and £12.5 million from ticket machines and mPark (paying for parking using a mobile phone).
