Date: Mon, 8 Jun 2009 17:11:31 +0100 Subject: Freedom of Information internal review From: "Chapman,Peter" To: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.xxx Cc: "Goodwin,Ian" Dear Jonnie of Brixton - Thank you for your email of 23rd May raising a complaint about how your Freedom of Information request has been handled. Please treat this response as an internal review of the original decision not to disclose. I can confirm that we had previously disclosed a list of empty properties that were not owned by Individuals. However, following that disclosure and given the increasing levels of unauthorised occupancy of Council properties in the borough, we are of the view that the public interest would not be served by the disclosure under FOI of an up to date list of empty property addresses (which would need to be extracted from our Council Tax system). I am therefore upholding the original decision not to provide a list of properties for the reasons set out in the Council's Information Officer, Ian Goodwin's, email to you. You do have a right to appeal this decision to the Information Commissioner's Office. The Commissioner can be contacted by writing to: Information Commissioner's Office Wycliffe House Water Lane Wilmslow Cheshire SK9 5AF Enquiry Line: 01625 545700.
