Dear Mr Laurie,

RE: Request for an Internal Review

I write in response to the Internal Review request that you made on 30 July with regard to a Freedom of Information request asking for information held regarding the Wikileaks organisation. Your Internal Review has been passed to me for investigation as I carry out Internal Reviews for Ministry of Justice related matters. The purpose of the Internal Review is to assess how the Freedom of Information request was handled in the first place.

On 02 June , you were informed that the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) does not hold any information relating to your request.

I have carried out an Internal Review and I am now in a position to let you know my findings.

I contacted the relevant Ministry of Justice departments and [Author ID1: at Tue Aug 18 09:49:00 2009 ]asked them to determine whether they held the information. They carried out a search of their records and their search confirmed that they do not have the information that you have requested.

Outside the scope of the Act and in a bid to be helpful, I have found a reference to WIKILEAKS in a `Hansard (House of Commons Daily Debates)' extract and I attach the web link to this site for your consideration.

I am sorry that I am unable to present you with the information that you requested under the Freedom of Information Act but I hope that the Internal Review has clarified why it has not been possible to provide you with any information you have requested.

If you are dissatisfied with the result of your Internal Review, you have the right to apply to the Information Commissioner's Office under Section 50 of the FOIA. You can contact the Information Commissioner's Office at the following address:
