Mr Ben Laurie

Our Ref: FOI: 59441

2 June 2009

Dear Mr Laurie

SUBJECT: Freedom of Information Request

Thank you for your email of the 3rd May 2009 in which you asked for the following information from the Ministry of Justice

I understand the MoJ holds a number of records or discussions relating to the whisleblower protection organization WikiLeaks. I request these items. In order to make the search cost effective, I request that it be limited in the following manner:

1. Time period covered: 2007 until the present.

2. UK Government held records electronically searchable by the FOI officer or his or her agents, starting with the most comprehensive database first.

Your request has been passed to me because I have responsibility for answering requests that relate to Corporate Security and Business Continuity. I can confirm that your request has been handled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA).

The MoJ does not hold the information you have requested and I regret that on this occasion I have not been able to be of more assistance.

As part of our obligations under the FOIA, the MoJ has an independent review process. If you are dissatisfied with this decision, you may write to request an internal review. The internal review will be carried out by someone who did not make the original decision, and they will re-assess how the Department handled the original request.

If you wish to request an internal review, please write or send an email to the Data Access and Compliance Unit within two calendar months of the date of this letter, at the following address:
