e-mail: [DWP request email]
27 July 2009
Dear Mr White
Freedom of Information requests 1100 (784) and 1102 (785).
I am writing in response to both your requests for various documents that you
originally made on 2 May, and to which we responded on the 29 May, and to
your further e mails of 10 June.
Please accept my apologies for failing to provide a list of all those senior
Jobcentre Managers who signed the Diversity Pledge. I misinterpreted your
request as being for copies of the Jobcentre Plus Disability and Gender
Equality Schemes and Race Equality Scheme updates as a request for a
copy of our Diversity Challenge.
Attached are copies of the Equality Schemes and all updates that have so far
been published and a list of the senior managers who signed the Diversity
Pledge. The job titles given on the Pledge are the ones that were appropriate
at the time that the Pledge was signed in 2007.
If you are not satisfied with our handling of your request please tell us why
within two calendar months of the date of this letter. We will then arrange for
someone to conduct an internal review of your request and our handling. The
review will be conducted by another officer, usually of a senior grade. This
person will have taken no part in the original handling. You will be advised of
the decision in writing.
If you are still not content with the outcome of the internal review you have the
right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner to look into the way
your request has been handled. Please note that generally the Commissioner
cannot make a decision unless you have first exhausted DWP’s own
complaints procedure. The Commissioner can be contacted at:
