Period Overview

  • Urgent escalations have been ongoing to CfH to progress the iSoft upload work

  • Key iSoft documentation remains outstanding, specifically the hardware audit spec

  • Upload kick off meeting with the Parks Practice 20.04.09

  • CfH resource visiting the Parks Practice to talk through PDS Sync process, 20.04.09

  • We have been working with the First wave to progress version uploads, now confirmed by the Parks

  • Adastra kick off meeting held 15.04.09, general agreement on the project plan

  • Adastra costs have been presented and discussed at the Board. Awareness that local funding will be required ahead of CfH decisions on central funding. DP has drafted an options appraisal for NHS Medway decision on local funding

  • The escalations to CfH around the consent model and the CfH SEC action plan were discussed at the SHA Meeting 21.04.09. We now have a document detailing the use of synergy with the new consent model. Little progress has been made regarding:

  • Documenting fully the new consent model

  • Clarify the new communications toolkit availability

  • Revised Concept Training successfully delivered 23.04.09 (MedOCC attended)

  • High level Second Wave Plan has been agreed by the Board (17.04.09).

  • Second Wave key dates placed on the PRT

  • SPRINT order for second wave materials placed with CfH

  • Engagement with Second wave Practices has commenced, positive feedback and agreement from three practices so far received

  • Smart Card issue process progressing well at MedOCC

Problems / RISKS / Issues for Attention

Red flags for attention

  • The new consent model is not officially documented in detail by CfH, we do not

have the clarity required to engage locally with clear messages to clinicians.

Awaiting full response from escalation to CfH

  • The iSoft SCR build is based on the original consent model, this does not match

our new `assumed consent' model. Work arounds will be required. Awaiting full

response from escalation to CfH. We have received a document, but it does not

explain how the upload of supplementary data will be managed.

New Amber flags for attention

  • It is unclear how Adastra funding for MedOCC will be managed. No clear guidance has been given by CfH or the SHA. Adastra have provided a quote for the work but NHS Medway must proceed at risk if they are to pay for the work locally and meet project timescales.
