Dear Mr Rhys,

Thank you for your e-mail dated 10^th July 2008, and received here on 14^th July 2008, in which you ask whether the Home Office has commissioned any reports in the last 20 years into the outcome of relaxing the current laws on personal firearms and on revising the current definition of what constitutes self defence.

After a thorough search, I regret to inform you that the Home Office does not hold the information that you have requested as we have no records to suggest that the Home Office has commissioned such reports in the last 20 years. However, if there is a particular report that you are searching for, please let me know of its specific date of publication or title and I will be happy to look for it.
