Dear Mr Parry

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request. You asked Enfield PCT:

1. I would like to know the cost to the taxpayer of my son Harvey

parry's community care program i.e. physiotherapy / occupational

therapy cost from 2007 to date. I would like the costing itemised

by date, administration, equipment, staff cost and all associated

cost that Enfield PCT incurs when providing this community service

to Harvey Parry.

2. This vital community service has I assume a budget per patient,

what is Harvey's parry budget per annum.

3. What is the average health care budget per patient per year in

Enfield.

4. What has the cost saving been to Enfield PCT by cutting Harvey's

vital community services.

5. How many NHS patients in Enfield have had their community

services cut, when forced to seek health services through the

private sector, when Enfield PCT has failed to meet their health

needs.

6. What is the ethnic makeup of NHS patients in Enfield that have

had their services cut or restricted since 2006 to date.

In response to your questions above:

  1. NHS Enfield buy in services such as physiotherapy as a community block contract. There is therefore no specific cost or tariff.

  2. Please see response above.

  3. The average healthcare budget per year per resident is £1300. There is a national set price for most hospital procedures that varies with the complexity of the procedure. PCTs do not keep estimates of an “average health care budget per patient”.

  4. The services available to Harvey have not been cut in any way.

  5. None

  6. This question is not applicable as no services have been cut or restricted in any way by NHS Enfield.

If you are not satisfied with the PCT's response to your request you may ask the PCT to review the response. If you wish to do this please write to the PALs and Complaints Department, Holbrook House, Cockfosters Road, Barnet, Herts EN4 0DR enclosing a copy of your original request and explaining your complaint.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact me on 020 8370 8185.

Yours Sincerely,
