Dear Mr Gardner,
I am writing with reference to your request for information regarding police
recruitment and medical fitness, dated 25th April 2009, made under section 1(1) of
the Freedom of Information Act.
You asked for the following information:
i) Guidance provided to UK Police Forces in relation to the
required level of medical fitness for Police Officer recruitment.
ii) Guidance provided to UK police Forces in relation to medical
conditions that would automatically exclude a person from being
recruited as a Police Officer in the UK.
We consider the information you have requested to be exempt from disclosure
under the Freedom of Information Act by virtue of Section 21(1) of the Act in that
the information is reasonably accessible to you by means other than the right of
access provided by Section 1 of the Act.
