FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: HC/01383/09
Your request for information under the Freedom of Information Act was received by the
Information Compliance Unit at Hampshire Constabulary on April 20th 2009. I note you seek
access to the following information:
• How many people were arrested for soliciting prostitutes or kerb crawling by
Hampshire Constabulary in each month of 2008.
• Of those arrested in each month the number who were:
a) released without charge
b) cautioned
c) charged
d) fined
e) If none of the above can be applied to each arrest I would like
to know how the crime was dealt with.
RESULT OF SEARCHES
In July 2008, one person was arrested under the Home Office Offence Code of 165/01,
‘Solicit a person or persons from a vehicle for the purposes of prostitution"
This arrest was disposed of as ‘No Further Action’.

Complaint
If you are dissatisfied with the handling procedures or the decision of Hampshire Constabulary made
under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 regarding access to information, you can lodge a
complaint with Hampshire Constabulary to have the decision reviewed. Hampshire Constabulary
must be notified of your intention to complain within 2 months of the date of its response to your
