Thanks Gillian. I've never managed to find the time to pull together a website note aimed at people wanting to know about the investment potential of this site. There is a lot of misinformation out there in the Far East and Canada some of which I've put right. If I had the time I'd take this up with the owners. I don't imagine that this is the fault of DLP Planning but it would be interesting to hear what they think about this. I'm fairly sure that some of the sales people believe that it's a dead cert housing site for the next year or two!!

Simon,
Sorry I should have explained this better. Development Sites is part of the Core Strategy Issues and Options consultation, May-July 2007. The developers representation will need to be considered in relation to national and regional policy to decide whether or not we'd take it any further. Its nature conservation status as well as Green Belt designation should provide us with double the backing in our approach to it as a development site. However, we may need a further discussion/meeting the developers, which will be part of the wider consultation on Development Sites. We also need to undertake a background study of the Borough's Green Belt and open space, which will give us better grounds on which to base our arguments.

Re timing, we're currently beginning to undertake background work on the Core Strategy Issues and Options, to present alongside responses to the consultation. This will provide a platform on which to base the next stage, the Preferred Options. The Preferred Options is set out in the Local Development Scheme (LDS) to be ready for June 2008 but its likely it'll be later (dependent on amending the LDS). By this point we should have a better idea about how we're taking forward (or not) this site. We'll keep you informed on what's going on.
Kind regards
Gillian

Gillian -- I suspect that I'm the only one that doesn't know exactly what this means. Am I right to think that it just means that we have a proposal that the site is taken out of the green belt? If so what happens next? And what are the implications for its nature conservation area status? Any update on timing? "Concorde Village" (is there a better name - Ghost Village perhaps?) has gone quiet as far as I'm concerned.

Dear all,
FYI - this site has come forward as a (detailed) Development Sites consultation response -from DLP Planning on behalf of the Strategic Land Planning Trust.

Dear All

There have been a number of queries re Concorde village - a green belt site which does not yet have a planning application in nor planning permission. A company in Singapore and Canada is selling the plots of the site for residential - so understandably there are a number of individuals querying whether or not this site will actually be developed or not.

I attach example of how I have responded to some of the queries that have come through.

Simon Hoets in DC is the main contact for this - he is also in touch with trading standards as well. We have were possible tried to be consistent in how we've responded. We were going to put something onto the website re this however queries appear to have died down now.

The 'developer' of this site has sent in information re the site - which we will need to look at for the core strategy as the developer would like an amendment to the green belt. I have passed this on to PA/GB to keep with the development sites info.

Hope this all makes sense

Cheers
Mrs H
