Concorde Village
Dear All,
As you may or may not be aware a company called Profitable Plots has been attempting to sell the land between Chertsey and Ashford Roads on the understanding that a mixed use redevelopment of the site may be possible in the future. Marketing material has in the past referred to the site as Concorde Village.
The advice that any interested person has been receiving from both development control and policy is that under current circumstances there is next to no chance of a residential or mixed use development being approved on this land given that it is within the Metropolitan Green Belt and is a nature conservation area. They have also been advised that there is no current plan to remove this site from the Green Belt.
The owners now appear to be a company called The Strategic Land Planning Trust and their planning consultants dlp planning, met with us to discuss their schemes. Despite the negative response from officers, they informed us that they were going to hold a public consultation to gauge community feeling.
This consultation is to be held this weekend. Attached is the invitation letter they have sent to DC, a copy of the promotional text that will form part of the presentation and an example of one of the master plan maps that we were given.
Consultation was widespread (some 5000 households) and community interest/concern has been slowly mounting, so I thought this briefing might prove useful.
