Thank you for your e-mail dated 31^st of March 2009, in which you sought information relating to the following from the Ministry of Justice;

Can you tell me the number of job vacancies currently advertised within your department on this day 1/04/09 broken down into those advertised internally and those advertised externally?

Your request has been handled in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 as a request for information.

I can confirm that we hold the information that you have requested. Due to a difference in the way this information is recorded within the MoJ it has been split. The National Offender Management Service (NOMS) which hold the records on a weekly basis are given as the week ending 30^th March 2008. The other departments falling under the MoJ are recorded daily and the information for the 1^st of April 2008 is available. The details of both are shown in the table below;
