Thank you for your Freedom of Information request. You asked Enfield PCT:
1. How many people receive continuing health care services?
2. What is the population of the PCT?
3. How many applications for Continuing Health Care were made?
4. How many were accepted and how many rejected?
5. How many rejected ones were appealed against?
6. How many appeals were then referred onto the ombudsman?
7. Of those referred to the ombudsman, how many were then rejected
and accepted?
In response to your questions above:
In 2007/08 280 people received continuing health care services provided by Enfield PCT. In 2008/09 277 people received continuing health care services provided by Enfield PCT.
These figures are snapshot totals, including children, of people in receipt of Continuing Health Care funding at the end of each of those financial years. No further breakdown is available on these global figures.Further information is contained in the attached document. Note that the figures there are for calendar years and relate only to older people and physical disability..
2. The estimated population of EPCT for 2007/08 is 289,604
3,4, & 5. Please see question 1 above and attached document.
6. There were no appeals referred to the ombudsman.
7. N/A
