I recently noticed that you now provide a local rate 0845 telephone
number for people to contact you on, and I congratulate you on
this.
Please can you tell me when you changed from the premium rate 0870
number?
Please can you send me copies of communication (e.g. emails/minutes
of meetings etc) that discussed the change of this number.
Please can you tell me in the 12 months prior to change how many
hours of phone calls were made to the 0870 number and how much SLC
made from these calls.

I refer to your e-mail dated 08/11/2010 requesting the following
information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA)

phone calls were made to the 0870 number and how much SLC made from these
calls.’

On 24th September 2008 we received correspondence from Cable and Wireless
regarding changes to 0870 numbers and providing an alternative to these
numbers over the forthcoming months. This process was performed and the
change from 0870 to 0845 numbers was finalised in September 2009
(notification was received on 25th September 2009).

There are no held minutes of meetings regarding the change as this was
driven based on the Ofcom requirement. Please however find attached a copy
of the Cable and Wireless correspondence relating to the change in 0870
numbers from September 2008 and various emails regarding the change along
with an extract of the Change Request submitted to our Change Management
Team regarding the steps which were required to be performed.

The below table details the number of 0870 calls received for the twelve
months previous to the change and revenues received as requested, please
note that these sums are not actual revenue, but rather resulted in
reducing our telecoms costs for the relevant periods:
