Read this before writing your Freedom of Information request

  • First, search the authority's web site ...

... to check that the info isn't already published.

  • Write your request in simple, precise language.
  • Browse other requests to 'Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency' for examples of how to word your request.
  • Keep it focussed, if you ask for everything it might cost too much and you might get nothing.
  • Ask for particular documents, rather than general questions.
  • This site is public, everything you type (except your email address) and any response will be published.

Special note for this authority!

  • The Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency (SCDEA) is a statutory body, maintained by the Scottish Police Services Authority (SPSA). The FOISA 2006 Act includes the SPSA as a 'public authority', but only in relation to those police support services it provides. The SCDEA is not a police support service and is therefore not covered by the provisions of FOISA.

Requests for information about particular activities of the SCDEA will be refused. However, the Agency may respond to reasonable requests for information, although not under the provisions of FOISA legislation, if such information is held.
